Better understanding leading to greater trust and engagement Charity Rating was formed in 2005 by our founder and chairman, Mikael Ahlström. Mikael is a founding partner in the venture capital firm, Procuritas AB, and has been a long-time committed donor. The idea for Charity Rating arose when he began to think about the gap between the information available from the nonprofit sector and the needs of donors. He started with a series of studies that showed a great desire for information - especially from individuals who represent a significant portion of the overall revenue generated by organizations with Swedish 90-accounts. Donors are interested in more information about how their money is spent and are prepared to donate more money if they have access to such facts. He developed Charity Rating with the goal of increasing donor confidence in nonprofit organizations; believing that this would encourage increased donations and lead to greater public benefit. |
